Kayaks at Glenmore

Insofar as a large format photo can be a grab shot, this one was. I’d set up my camera pointing about 90 degrees from this scene, and had been talking to an interested passerby (more people seem to be interested in large format cameras than camera phones!). As the conversation ended, I saw the group with kayaks about to work their way up the shallow stream before reaching deeper water, turned the camera round, rapidly composed and focused (actually, when enlarged enough, the figures are not quite in focus) inserted the film and made the exposure. By the time I’d removed the film, there was no opportunity for another exposure.
